「ボローニャ・ブックフェア 2018（bologna children’s book fair）」が3月26日から開催されました。
2017年の同展では、世界中の100を超える国々から、出版社、イラストレーター、作家、翻訳者、書店員、図書館員、教員、そしてジャーナリストなど、4日間のイベントで26,700人以上が参加しました。
会期中は、6つの巨大なホールにまたがり数百のブースが出展。子どもの本を中心にしたマルチメディアの見本市が開かれ、国際的なライセンスビジネスの中心地として盛り上がります。
また重要な柱として、「ボローニャ国際絵本原画展」の受賞作品の会場展示、優れた児童書に贈られる「ボローニャ・ラガッツィ賞」の授賞式も行われます。
2018年は、国際児童図書評議会（IBBY）によって隔年で授与され、「小さなノーベル賞」とも呼ばれている「国際アンデルセン賞」の発表もあります。
